Menthi Majjiga is a traditional Andhra-style curd curry made with fenugreek seeds (menthulu) and spiced buttermilk. 🥣 Ingredients

  • 1 cup thick curd

  • 2 tbsp soaked or roasted fenugreek seeds (menthulu)

  • 2–3 green chilies

  • 1 small onion (optional)

  • Curry leaves and coriander leaves

  • Salt to taste

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • Water as needed

For Tempering:

  • 1 tsp oil

  • ½ tsp mustard seeds

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • 1–2 dried red chilies

  • A pinch of hing

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Soak the menthi seeds for 1–2 hours (or lightly roast and grind them).

  2. In a bowl, whisk curd with water to make smooth buttermilk.

  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard, cumin, red chilies, curry leaves, and hing for tempering.

  4. Add menthi, green chilies, and turmeric — sauté briefly.

  5. Mix this seasoning into the curd, add salt, and combine well.

  6. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve immediately with steamed rice.
